Description
This one gram "Big Game Five - Leopard" 1500 Shilling Gold Note is legal tender currency in Tanzania and is composed of 24 karat pure [0.999 fine] gold. The "Big Five" designation is given to the five animals most difficult to hunt by foot, termed by safari operators "Big Game Five." Because of its vast wetlands, Tanzania hosts many water loving species and overall is home to 20% of Africa's total mammal population. Total mintage of this Gold Note was 1,500 and thus makes this particular design series hard to find. One side of the Gold Note bears a depiction of giraffes, Tanzania's national animal, in stunning holographic detail silhouette. To the lower left is the Tanzanian coat of arms. On the Reverse are a female leopard with her cub, a hologram of a leopard to the lower left. Dimensions of this Gold Note are 150mm x 70mm, almost exactly the size of a US Dollar. It was produced by Mayer Mint GmnH in Germany for the Tanzanian government. Tanzania is a democratic republic where over 100 languages are spoken. Located in East Africa, Tanzania hosts a population of 45 million, more than 70% of them below the poverty line. The Gold Note has muliple Assay details and a host of security features including holograms and invisible markings. The note is attached to a Golden Life Card [See photos] with an inner label describing exactly what the Gold Note represents, what we call "mini-bios." Also included is a colorfully designed envelope suitable for storing or gifting the Leopard Gold Note. [NOTE: The pictures of the Leopard Note are Stock Photos. I personally Guarantee that the Note you purchase will match the quality of the one photographed.] The Serial Number of this Note is XU5800630. Unlike Aurum Gold Notes, the Big Game Five series are pure gold and have a mirror, blazing prooflike finish. Those accustomed to Aurum Notes with their deep colors might notice how holographic images in this Note substituted for color. This is a Gem Condition Note and a great collectible.
